Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 was launched on a grand note with Vijay Sethupathi hosting the inaugural episode on October 6. The actor, who is hosting the show for the first time, welcomed 18 contestants. Before welcoming the contestants, he gave the viewers a virtual tour of the house. The theme of Bigg Boss Tamil season 8 is Men vs Women. The house is also split into two areas, which will be occupied by men and women.

Vijay Sethupathi was a fun host as he cleverly posed tough and difficult questions to the contestants with a smile on his face. He also warned the contestants that he would call them out when necessary.
