Hollywood actor Taylor Lautner and his wife, Taylor "Tay" Lautner, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl. The couple shared the news in a joint Instagram post on September 23 and said their daughter was born on September 16. They marked the moment with a photo of their newborn resting on a pink blanket.

The announcement came after months of the pair sharing their journey to parenthood, from revealing the pregnancy in March to celebrating the baby with family and friends. They had also hinted that their daughter's name might reflect the unusual naming connection they already share as husband and wife.

The Twilight star, who played Jacob Black, and Tay revealed that they have named their daughter Lennon Taylor Lautner. In the caption of their post, they wrote, "One week loving our sweet little Lenny. Lennon Taylor Lautner. 9.16.2026," introducing the newborn as their "sweet little Lenny". Her middle name, Taylor, is a nod to the name both parents share.

The couple had earlier suggested that Taylor could be part of their baby's name. During a recent appearance on Call Her Daddy, Tay said Taylor was "in the mix" when it came to baby names. The pair already share the same first and last name after their marriage, and friends are said to call them "Boy Tay" and "Girl Tay".

From pregnancy reveal to baby girl announcement

Taylor and Tay announced in March that they were expecting their first child, three years after getting married. Alongside the photos, they posted the caption, "What's better than two Taylor Lautners?"

In June, they shared that they were expecting a girl. In an Instagram Reel captioned, "Our little secret is now yours," the couple filmed themselves waiting for the result on a website. As they worked through multiple prompts, Taylor said, "Oh my gosh, that's a lot of steps," while Tay said the website was taking "very great precautions". When the final screen flashed "girl" in pink, Taylor threw his arms in the air and hugged Tay.

The couple held a pink-themed baby shower in August, hosted by influencer Jaclyn Hill. Tay later gave fans a tour of Lennon's nursery, which Taylor called his "favourite room in the house".

Tay has also spoken openly about the harder parts of pregnancy. On an episode of her podcast, The Squeeze, she said she had struggled with body image during her second trimester and had found herself comparing her journey with other expectant mothers online.

How their story began

Taylor and Tay met in 2018 through Taylor's younger sister, Makena Moore. They began dating that year, got engaged in 2021 and married in November 2022.
