Madhuri Dixit shares sons' reaction to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: You're good as bhoot

Madhuri Dixit, in a conversation with India Today Digital, discussed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3's success and her sons' reaction to it.

Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit made an impactful comeback in theatres with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Also starring Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan and Triptii Dimri, the film has already crossed Rs 233 crore. In an exclusive chat with India Today Digital, Madhuri spoke about what the film's success means to her and shared her sons' reactions to the film.

Madhuri confirmed that her sons did watch the film. "Yes, they did watch it in the USA with their friends in the theatre and really liked it. They called me and mentioned how it was a good film, and very entertaining. They also told me that I was a very good bhoot (ghost). They were quite surprised by that," Madhuri Dixit shared with a laugh.

Married in 1999, the Hum Aapke Hain Koun actor has two sons, Arin and Ryan, with husband Shriram Nene. Both her sons are studying in the USA. When we asked what they think of their mother's stardom and the legacy she has created for herself, the actor said, "They are... I mean the way I have brought them up, stardom is aside. I am their mom first."

While Madhuri Dixit did impress fans with her performance in The Fame Game (Netflix) and Maja Ma (Prime Video), Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 marks her comeback to cinema after Kalank. While the film has already minted money, the actor mentioned how, after a certain stage, an artist is not bothered about the money their film earns.

"I am glad that everyone liked the film. When it was offered to me, I was excited as I hadn't done anything in the genre of horror comedy. So, it really sounded appealing. Also, the way my character enters the film was so much fun. Working with Kartik, Triptii, Vidya and all the other actors was also amazing. It was actually a great time on the set. I have also admired Aneez Bazmee as a director. And to have him as the leader of our ship was a great opportunity. I am very happy with the kind of love that we are getting," she shared.

Talking about the box office numbers, Madhuri Dixit added, "That only means that your hard work has paid off. We work for our audiences to like our roles and our films. And when they do, it really makes you happy. If it also becomes successful it's like sone pe suhaga (cherry on the cake). At the end of the day, you are part of a hit film, and that is a great feeling. Bhool Bhulaiyaa has been an iconic franchise and it's special to be associated with it."

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 released on Diwali along with Singham Again. It is still running in theatres.
