Hollywood actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reached a divorce settlement eight years after filing for divorce. Her attorney, James Simon, told The Associated Press she is relieved and exhausted after fighting one of the longest divorces in the history of Hollywood. The documents regarding their settlement are yet to be submitted in court.
In a statement, Simon said, "More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over."
An e-mail was sent to Pitt's attorney seeking reply on Monday night. However, it wasn't immediately answered.
Details regarding the settlement have been kept under wraps. The couple hired a private judge to handle the case.
Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt were one of the most popular couples in Hollywood. They were together for 12 years and have six children together.
In 2016, Jolie filed for divorce after an abusive episode on a private jet from Europe. She claimed that Pitt was abusive towards her and their children. Though a judge granted them divorce and declared them single in 2019, the splitting of assets and child custody were to be settled separately.
On the work front, Jolie was last seen in Maria, while Pitt shared the screen with friend George Clooney in Wolfs.
