Actor Sharon Stone has reacted to a resurfaced 2025 interview in which Sofa Vergara spoke about her dating life and the qualities she wants in a partner, including financial compatibility. Stone showed her support by posting several clapping emojis in the comments section of a post shared by the Daily Mail.

Vergara spoke about the subject following her 2023 divorce from Joe Manganiello. In the interview, she also discussed what she wants in a relationship, while later remarks from both Vergara and Manganiello offered differing accounts of why their marriage ended.

What Sofa Vergara said

Following her divorce from Manganiello in 2023, the Modern Family star appeared on the Today show in 2025 and spoke about her dating life.

“I want to say the basic stuff, like health and somebody that loves me. And somebody tall, handsome. I want somebody that has as much money as me or more, because if not, it’s a nightmare. They end up resenting you,” she said then.

The interview recently resurfaced online, and the Basic Instinct actor did not shy away from extending her support to Vergara.

Earlier remarks on her marriage

Vergara had earlier said that her marriage to Manganiello ended partly because he wanted to have children, while she did not wish to become a mother again. Vergara is already a mother to a son, whom she gave birth to at the age of 19.

Manganiello later denied those claims in an interview with Men's Journal, saying the 53-year-old actor’s version of events was “simply not true”. He said they had, in fact, tried to start a family during the first year and a half of their marriage.

He also said they had discussed the topic of children very early in their relationship. “I said: ‘If you’re done with kids, then I understand. Just tell me, and I’ll know what this is, and that’s okay,’” he recalled, adding that he had promised Vergara he would never leave her if having children together did not work out.
