Actor and influencer Uorfi Javed has spoken out about the online abuse she says she continues to face, sharing screenshots of rape threats, death threats and hateful messages on Instagram. The post came shortly after her win on The Traitors Season 1, with Uorfi claiming that the messages she shared represented only a fraction of the abuse she receives.
In an Instagram Reel posted in the early hours of Thursday, Uorfi revealed that she has been subjected to trolling and threats for years. Sharing screenshots of messages and comments sent to her, she said the examples featured in the post were among the "most decent" compared to what she usually encounters.
"I’ve been subjected to the harshest trolling, abuses, rape threats, death threats. When I say harshest, I mean it. This is not even 1% of it. Random people got hold of my number and used to call me and abuse me. I’ve even gotten rape threats and death threats on my number (sic)," she wrote.
She added, "I kid you not, even this is not even 1%. These are actually the most decent ones. This is not just me, by the way. This is the reality of women on social media platforms. Abusing them, rape threats and death threats are a norm (sic)."

Some followers also appreciated the fact that Uorfi did not blur the usernames of individuals who had allegedly sent her abusive messages, calling it an important step towards accountability.
This is not the first time Uorfi has spoken about issues concerning women's safety and online behaviour. Earlier, she weighed in on the controversy surrounding comedian Pranit More's viral crowd-work clip, describing the exchange as "disgusting" on her Instagram Stories. While the video has since been deleted, criticism around the incident has continued online.
With her latest post, Uorfi once again drew attention to the hostility many women face on social media, arguing that threats and abuse have become a routine part of the online experience for many female users.
