Delhi Police have arrested a YouTuber who allegedly targeted women riders and minor girls by deliberately colliding with their vehicles, recording the incidents, and uploading the videos on social media to increase his online following and earnings.

The accused, 32-year-old Gurman Singh, runs the social media handle "Road Safety Wala." According to Delhi Police, he used to target women riders and minor girls through deliberate road collisions, record the incidents, and upload the videos on YouTube and Facebook.

The case came to light after Delhi Police received a complaint on June 2 from a man who alleged that two unidentified men intentionally hit his minor daughters' scooter from behind. The complainant said the accused then followed the girls while passing inappropriate remarks and using abusive language.

A few days later, the complainant discovered that videos of his daughters had been uploaded on YouTube and Facebook. Following the complaint, Delhi Police registered a case under the relevant sections of the Pocso Act.

During the initial scrutiny of the accused's social media profiles, police observed that the account primarily featured videos targeting women riders and minor girls. After collecting technical evidence, investigators arrested Gurman Singh.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he created such videos to increase his social media following and boost his revenue through monetisation. He also admitted that he deliberately targeted women riders to attract greater online engagement and for his personal gratification.

According to the police, the accused identified and targeted women riders, pillion riders, and minor girls travelling on the roads. He intentionally hit their vehicles and, to avoid suspicion, apologised by saying, "Sorry didi." He then allegedly recorded the entire incident and uploaded the videos on social media platforms without consent.
