Actor Kayadu Lohar recalls hitting eve-teaser with stone: His head started bleeding

Tamil actor Kayadu Lohar has opened up about an incident from her school days when she fought back against a group of boys who allegedly eve-teased her. Speaking during promotions for her upcoming Tamil film Idhayam Murali, the 26-year-old actor said she initially chose to ignore the harassment but eventually reached a breaking point.

Kayadu, who was joined by her co-stars Atharvaa Murali and Preity Mukhundhan on a recent episode of the Galatta Tamil podcast, spoke about the incident when asked about her own "Blast" moment. The question came in reference to Preity's action sequences in the recently released Tamil film Blast.

Although she was initially hesitant to share the story, Kayadu said she hoped it would encourage girls to stand up for themselves.

Recalling the incident, she said, "I used to attend classes near my home when I was in Class 10. There were these boys who used to eve-tease me. The first day, I thought, fine, forget it. The second day, I ignored it again. But on the third day, I just couldn't take it anymore."

Describing how she reacted, Kayadu said, "I was so agitated and angry that I picked up a stone and threw it at one of them. It hit his head and he started bleeding. I left immediately. I don't know what happened after that. Looking back, it was very violent. I don't think you should pick up a stone and injure someone. But that's what I felt in that moment, and that's what I did. Maybe people think I'm quiet and don't talk much. But when someone does something wrong, I don't think you should silently accept it. You should stand up for yourself."

About Kayadu Lohar's career

Kayadu began her career as a model before making her acting debut with the Kannada film Mugilpete in 2021. She went on to debut in Malayalam and Telugu cinema with Pathonpatham Noottandu and Alluri in 2022, followed by the Marathi film I Prem U in 2023. She made her Tamil debut with the 2025 hit Dragon, which proved to be her breakthrough film.

She was last seen in the Telugu film Funky and the Malayalam film Pallichattambi. Her next release, Idhayam Murali, is set to hit theatres on July 10. She also has a packed line-up including Immortal and Manjanaththi in Tamil, I'm Game, Khalifa: The Intro and Thaaram in Malayalam, and The Paradise in Telugu.

Earlier this year, she also featured in Sai Abhyankkar's music video Pavazha Malli, which went viral.
