A video by a US YouTuber, Chris Takes Off, visiting Kusumpur Pahari, one of New Delhi’s poorest slums, has taken social media by storm.

Known for his travel vlogs, Chris shared a glimpse into the everyday struggles faced by the community living in this impoverished area.

The video, which he posted on YouTube, showcased his journey through the slum, as he highlighted the lack of basic amenities such as water and toilets, and his candid reflections on the harsh realities he witnessed.

In the video, Chris, accustomed to documenting more conventional tourist spots, ventured into Kusumpur Pahari to witness life far from the usual glitz and glamour.

He sampled local food, hitched rides from generous locals, and engaged in conversations that left him profoundly moved. One of the standout moments came when he was invited into a modest local home for a tour.

Chris danced and had a moment with the family members of the person who invited him for the tour. He then went to a local barber to get a shave.

Despite the dire conditions, the residents’ hospitality left him speechless. “The kindness and hospitality these people showed me blew my mind!

Sharing the video on YouTube, Chris, in the caption, wrote, “In this video, I explore New Delhi’s poorest slum: Kusumpur Pahari. An area where people depend on water delivery and where a toilet is considered a luxury. I drink chai with locals, talk to strangers, try local snacks, and get a shave at the local barbershop. The kindness and hospitality these people showed me blew my mind!”
