Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda is expected to be discharged from Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital today, October 4, following an accidental shooting incident earlier this week. The actor, known for his iconic roles in films like Hero No 1, had been hospitalised after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his licensed revolver in the early hours of Tuesday, October 1. The incident occurred around 4:45 am as Govinda was preparing for a flight to Kolkata.

Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was not in Mumbai at the time of the accident, has provided a reassuring update on his health. Speaking to the media, she said, "Sir ek baje tak discharge ho jayenge aur yaha se unko ghar leke jayenge. Ghar pe bhi doctor ne bola hai 6 hafta bedrest karna hai, toh hum zyada kisi ko allow nahi karenge kyu infection lagne ka darr hai, toh unko abhi aaram karna hai." (He will be discharged by 1 pm, and we’ll take him home. The doctor has advised six weeks of bed rest, so we won’t allow many visitors due to the risk of infection, as he needs to rest now.)

She further added, "Itna saal naache gaye na, thoda aaram karna bhi zaruri hai. Ghar pe sirf puja path ke kuch nahi chal raha, Navratri chal rahi hai, waha pe bhi puja prarthana chal rahi hai. Main abhi ghar se puja hi kar ke aayi hu." (He’s danced for so many years, so now a bit of rest is necessary. There’s nothing but prayers going on at home; it’s Navratri, and we’ve been praying there too. I just came from offering prayers at home.)

Sunita Ahuja expressed relief over her husband's condition, stating, "Darr toh lag gaya tha lekin mujhe Mata Rani pe itna bharosa hai ki mujhe pata tha ki isko kuch nahi hoga. Hero No. 1 hai, goli bhi nikal gayi usko chodke." (I was scared, but I have so much faith in the goddess that I knew nothing would happen to him. He’s Hero No 1; even the bullet couldn’t stop him.)

The actor is now on the path to recovery, with his wife noting, "Ab bas Mata Rani inko jaldi theek kar de. 6 hafte ke liye inko bedrest bola hai. Acche se kha pi ke, inko tandurust karke phir nachwayenge inko." (Now we just pray that the goddess heals him quickly. He’s been advised six weeks of bed rest. We’ll make sure he eats well, gets fit, and then we’ll make him dance again.)

Govinda's doctor Ramesh Agarwal also talked about the actor's health, "He is quite better now. He will go back home, he will take rest for a couple of days , then he will be okay. He is abosolutely okay."

Sources close to Govinda, told India Today Digital, "Govinda will be shifted to his flat as the bunglow where the incident happened is being cleaned and painted as it had blood stains. The family has put up a complete hospital setup at home to make Govinda comfortable. He might be shifted home in an ambulance for comfort."

Govinda’s daughter is currently by his side at the hospital, while the family prepares to bring him home for the necessary rest and recovery. The actor was reportedly lucky to avoid more severe injuries, and his fans and well-wishers have expressed relief at the news of his discharge.
