At least 20 passengers were seriously injured after a double-decker bus travelling from Noida to Bihar overturned on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district on Sunday evening, police said.
The accident took place around 7:36 pm near milestone 76 in the Nauhjheel police station area when the high-speed bus lost control and flipped over. The bus, bearing registration number BR02PC2291, was carrying around 70–100 passengers at the time of the incident.
Police teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation, breaking the bus windows to evacuate trapped passengers. All injured were shifted to the Community Health Centre in Nauhjheel with the help of ambulances and government vehicles. Officials said there was no loss of life.
Authorities later removed the damaged bus from the expressway and restored traffic movement. Further legal action in the case is underway.
