10 fishermen stranded in sea rescued off Odisha coast near Puri

Puri: Ten fishermen from Andhra Pradesh were rescued from the sea off the Odisha coast near Puri. The Indian Coast Guard rescued the fishermen along with the boat.
All rescued fishermen are residents of Chintapalli village in Vizianagaram district.
According to report, their boat suffered a mechanical breakdown and drifted off the Puri shoreline. They had sent a distress alert, requesting rescue from the sea.

Acting swiftly, the Puri Marine Police coordinated a rescue operation. The Coast Guard contacted the Paradip headquarters. After requesting the port authority to keep the boat in the Paradip port, the port authority allowed them to do so.
The rescued fishermen are safe and have returned to their homes. Necessary arrangements will be made to shift the stranded boat to a safe place later.
