Rabbi Shergill backs AR Rahman’s remarks on communal bias debate

Mumbai: While the singer-songwriter didn’t exactly understand the context of the remarks, the concerns raised should not be ignored.
He further added that he feels like one “has to take him at his word,” considering the present political scenario and climate.
Shergill pointed out that many films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story are seen as films that are politically motivated and how ideological changes affects the world.

Rahman’s controversial comments were made in a separate interview earlier, in which the singer implied that he might have faced certain career setbacks due to shifts in power in Bollywood.
The Oscar-winning musician had to later clarify his stand, saying he never wanted to hurt anyone’s sentiments.
