Low Pressure Likely on 13 August, Heavy Rain Forecast for North Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form on the 13th of August. A cyclonic circulation is currently active over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh-West Bengal coast. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to develop over the same region on the 13 August.
According to the Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rain is likely today in North Odisha and adjoining districts. Rainfall is expected to impact Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Khordha, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Angul, Deogarh and Sundargarh districts.
Heavy to moderate rain is also likely in North Odisha and some other districts.
A rain alert has also been issued for the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Intense rainfall is likely in both cities between 12 PM and 7 PM today.

In case of heavy rain, problems like waterlogging on roads, traffic congestion and flooding in low-lying areas may occur. Therefore, people have been advised to avoid stepping out during intense rain unless necessary and to keep a watch on further updates from the Meteorological Department. All eyes are now on the cyclonic circulation active over the Bay of Bengal.
