Govt issues notice to Meta for removal of ads promoting child sexual abuse content on Instagram

New Delhi: The government has issued a notice to Meta for removal of paid advertisment promoting child sexual abuse content on Instagram, as per ANI reports.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has ordered Instagram to disable all ads & content promoting and facilitating access to CSEAM.

The government has also demanded a detailed explanation on it within 7 days of time. If not given it may face legal action under the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
