Buses to Ply during Odisha Bandh Tomorrow, State Bus Owners’ Association Extends No Support

Bhubaneswar: Bus services will continue to operate across Odisha tomorrow as the Odisha State Bus Owners’ Association has decided not to support the statewide bandh.

Association president Barada Prasanna Acharya said that suspension of bus services even for a day would cause significant inconvenience to passengers and result in financial losses for bus owners.

Therefore, buses will continue to ply as usual on Thursday. However, services may be suspended at places where vehicles are stopped due to picketing by bandh supporters, he said.

Meanwhile, auto-rickshaw services will remain suspended during the bandh. The Rajdhani Auto Drivers’ Association has extended its support to the Odisha Bandh and decided to keep auto services off the roads across the state.

Both online and offline auto-rickshaw services will remain suspended from 6 am to 6 pm. The decision was taken at a meeting of the association held on Tuesday.

The INDIA bloc has called for a 12-hour Odisha Bandh on October 8 from 6 am to 6 pm over several demands.
