Madhuri Jain Grover defends controversial remarks after lock upp exit

Mumbai: Entrepreneur Madhuri Jain Grover, the wife of former BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover, has again defended the remarks she made about population growth.

After following her elimination from reality show ‘Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa’, she defended herself in an interview.

Madhuri, in a recent interview, stuck to her earlier point that more children in wealthy families may lead to economic progress, whereas more births in impoverished households may aggravate their financial difficulties.

When questioned about the criticism regarding her comments on the population of the country, she claimed that she had never asked anyone to refrain from bearing children.

To those who argued that poor people were running the country, Madhuri questioned the actual economic contributors by stating that businessmen and employers create jobs and economy in large extent.

The entrepreneurs also indicated that the social media discourse around the same also heightened the matter.

The controversy has again resurfaced with many people expressing their disappointment and calling it “insensitive”, while some were of the view that it was her “economic opinion”.
