Reliance Jio now lists four Voice-only packs under TRAI Mandated Packs section

Reliance Jio now lists four recharge plans as it’s Voice-only packs. The four plans are listed under the “TRAI Mandated Packs” section on its website. These plans are Rs 147, Rs 177, Rs 196, and Rs 197.

All four plans offer only voice and message benefits as per the new rules of the TRAI. However, they have different validity period. The main thing is that these plans simply offer voice calling and messaging benfits without the added data benefits.

The four plans- Rs 147, Rs 177, Rs 196, and Rs 197- offer unlimited voice calling and 300 SMS benefit for a period of  22 days, 28 days, 30 days, and a calendar month, respectively.

Let’s talk about them in detail.

Jio Rs 147 pack and Jio Rs 177 plan

The Rs 147 pack of Jio comes with a service validity period of 22 days and is the cheapest plan among the four. It also unlimited voice calling and 300 SMS benefit.

But, you can just add another Rs 30 rupees and get the Rs 177 pack to enjoy six additional days of validity, which means a service period of 28 days. The other 300 SMS and unlimited voice calling benefit are same as the Rs 147 plan.

The Rs 177 option works out to approximately Rs 6.32 per day, compared with Rs 6.68 for the Rs 147 pack, which makes it cheaper if you look at the daily expenditure.

Jio Rs 196 and Rs 197 pack

The Rs 196 pack and Rs 197 plan also provide the same benefits of unlimited voice calling and 300 SMS benefit. However, they have a different service period.

The Rs 196 plan provides a fixed 30-day validity period. Meanwhile, the Rs 197 option follows a calendar-month cycle, allowing customers to renew on the same date each month.

Where that date does not exist in the following month, renewal falls on the last day of that month.

For example, a calendar-month recharge made on November 5 would renew on December 5. A fixed 30-day pack simply follows its stated validity period.

The Re 1 difference is therefore about the recharge cycle.
