Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw has found himself at the centre of social media attention following emotional and cryptic posts shared by his fiancée, Akriti Agarwal, on her Instagram Stories.
The now-deleted updates have sparked rampant breakup rumours and speculation among fans about the state of their relationship.
On July 5, 2026, Akriti’s Instagram Stories began to surface on the internet. Writing on a plain black background, she said she was “so confused” by someone’s actions, and said: “I got cheated on so many times, yet I never said a word. I still can’t believe that I took one step ahead. She reportedly followed it up with another text that read, “Everything is true; every rumour is true. What you see on social media about him.”

While she refrained from naming anyone explicitly in the posts, the timing and context have led followers to speculate heavily that her words were directed at the Delhi Capitals opening batsman. Despite the intense internet rumours claiming a split, neither Shaw nor Agarwal has released an official public comment regarding the controversy. And the pair still follow each other on Instagram and their collaborative engagement post is still up on their individual handles.
Akriti Agarwal is an actress and top social media influencer who has built her own digital footprint. She has been a steady presence for Shaw over the past couple of years, frequently accompanying him at high-profile industry events, public gatherings and festive celebrations, first attracting much public attention when they were seen together during celebrations in 2025.
The couple made their engagement official in the first half of 2026. Pictures from the ceremony showcased the former India Under-19 captain down on one knee presenting a ring to Akriti. Celebrating the milestone at the time, Shaw had shared the images with a cricket-themed caption, calling her his “perfect innings.”
