America's love of giant roadside attractions has produced many strange sights, but few are as fierce as Betsy, a colossal spiny lobster in Islamorada, Florida. You can see Betsy in these fantastic photos shared by Atlas Obscura. She stands nearly 30 feet tall and stretches about 40 feet long.

Betsy, the giant crustacean, greets visitors outside the Rain Barrel Artisans' Village in the Florida Keys. Built in the 1980s to celebrate the Florida spiny lobster, she features stunning detail that accurately captures the species' most distinctive traits. Betsy isn't your typical roadside sculpture.

She originally stood outside another shopping center farther south in the Keys before being moved to Islamorada in 2009. Today, Betsy remains a popular photo stop and is often cited as one of the largest lobster statues in the world.
