Vaikunta Samaradhane joins the list of movies with peculiar titles. Rajat Maurya, an advocate, plays the lead apart from writing the script, screenplay and directing the movie. The title of the movie was unveiled recently. Prominent personalities of Sandalwood and advocates graced the function.

“I have worked as a legal consultant and also did modeling. I had training in acting and direction during leisure time. Now, I have decided to direct the movie that conveys a message to society. The movie revolves around senior citizens and their children and what the former expects from the latter,’’ said Maurya.

Vaikunta Samaradhane is a ceremony that takes place on the 13th day after a person’s death to celebrate their entry into Vaikunta, the home of Vishnu. “I am a devotee of Sri Balaji. I also believe in astrology. An astrologer predicted a bright future for me. I have decided to direct this movie after tasting success in my profession as an advocate,’’ Maurya said.

He said that he has been busy with the script of the movie. “We want to conduct auditions to select the cast for the movie. If all goes well, the movie will go on floors in December. “My grandfather and parents are the inspiration for me to write the script for this movie. I spent my childhood with my grandfather. The movie will have all the elements to entertain the audiences,’’ he said, adding that 60% of the shooting would be held in Malnad and the remaining portion in Bengaluru.
