Gumti: Trailer unveiled

The team of Kannada movie ‘Gumti’ unveiled the trailer of the movie at a function held at SRV Preview Theatre a few days ago. The team has completed post-production work, and the movie is expected to arrive in theatres shortly. Speaking on the occasion, Vikash S Shetty, who bankrolled the movie, said that an attempt was made to showcase the traditional arts of coastal Karnataka. “The movie has come out well. I am sure that audiences will like the content of the movie,’’ he said.

Sandesh Shetty Ajri has directed Gumti apart from writing the script, screenplay, and playing the lead. “The movie revolves around the Kudubi community. Gumti is also known for an ancient musical instrument used by the Kudubi community. The movie will also highlight the clash between tradition and modernity,’’ he said, adding that Gumti has already created a buzz among moviegoers. “Tickets for 24 shows in and around Udupi district were already sold out much before the movie was released at theatres,’’ he said.
