Musical act
Immerse yourselves in ‘Sangeet Manapmaan,’ a sangeet natak performed by Bharat Natya Sanshodhan Mandir from Pune. The story is of a young and penniless general, Dhairyadhar, who is refused by the proud Bhamini, a proud heiress. But she soon repents and presents herself disguised as a poor damsel in the wilderness, only to be rescued by Dhairyadhar. Their scenes are almost copies of the lago-Roderic scenes in Othello. Manapmaan ends where Othello would begin—but with Brabantio’s blessings! Where: Ranga Shankara; When: November 10, 7:30 pm
