‘I want to do everything’
by Bangalore Mirror · Bangalore MirrorSanya Malhotra likes to chase challenges and rise up to them
Sanya Malhotra marked her debut in movies with Aamir Khan and Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal, and since there on she has chosen her own path with films like Pagglait, Kathal, Jawan and Sam Bahadur. The actress will now be seen in Harman Baweja and Arati Kadav’s Mrs which is an official remake of Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen.
The film talks about the intrinsic patriarchy especially for a daughter-in-law, and how she breaks the shackles and finds her own voice and stands up for it. The film premiered at IFFI this year.
In an exclusive interview with ETimes, the actress opened up about her realization during the shooting of the film. She said, “My realization through the process was that there is so much to learn and unlearn and I became aware of so many things. Like when I see my mother, I feel that there is this unsaid pressure on women.
For example it is being that the route to man’s heart is through his stomach .. I dont think that is true ..that is not the ultimate way to show love or care…. There are so many other ways like you can share the load and show the same kind of care and love..appreciate them.”
“I like to do everything, I want to do everything. I don’t want to put myself in a box and be in my comfort zone...
I’m constantly chasing challenges, I’m chasing something that will make me grow. I’m very lucky that I’m getting to work with amazing filmmakers, and hence I’m doing different things,” she added when asked about her different film choices.
Sanya would be next seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is being directed by Shashank Khaitan.
