These are the cocktail bars you have to visit in Clifton this week

It's all part of a special cocktail crawl in the area, running for five days

A cocktail bar crawl is taking place in Clifton this week, with some 10 locations taking part. From Wednesday (October 9) to Sunday (October 13) each business involved in the event - from pubs to cocktail bars, restaurants and more - will be offering 'something different' for crawl-goers.

But you don't need to book - simply turn up and see what's on (reservations may need to be made for tables for food, however). For example, some establishments are offering 2-4-1 deals, while new restaurant bar Fish Tales is offering Bloody Mary oysters, and Japanese restaurant bar Kibou will be pushing the last leg of their 'Passport to Japan' project.

The event aims to draw more people to the village, while giving local businesses a chance to show off to new and regular customers. You can download a map of Clifton Cocktail Crawl here, and find out more about each venue below...

The Mall Pub

The Mall in Clifton.

Situated on The Mall, this gastropub boasts plush seating in a snug lounge with a three-tiered secret garden. Loved by locals and 'embodying the friendly vibe of Clifton Village', the pub offers lazy lunches, sumptuous Sunday roasts, home-cooked food and an 'encyclopaedic drinks menu', which includes cocktails.

Royal Oak

Another Mall resident, the Royal Oak is a 'friendly community pub' spanning three floors, with food, drink, functions and sports to welcome everyone through its doors. The fully refurbished bar was recently upgraded and now features multiple screens, and staff pride themselves on their ale and drinks offer. There are continental lagers, craft beer, local ciders, wines, spirits and, of course, a vast array of cocktails too.

Fish Tales

Again on The Mall, Fish Tales opened back in July as 'the newest seafood haven in Clifton Village'. Set to become "Clifton Village's go-to destination for seafood lovers", Fish Tales is the brainchild of renowned chef Takvor Terlemezyan, from the former New Moon Tapas in which Fish Tales resides. In addition to seafood dishes, a range of wines, beers and ciders, Fish Tales has a menu of cocktails for cocktail lovers to enjoy, too.

Bar 44

Situated in an old bank on Regent Street, Bar 44 aims to showcase the best local produce, as well as that of Spain, in its dishes as well as a vast array of dishes and drink options. The building was recently refurbished and now features works of art from Spanish artist Andi Rivas. Two underground bank vaults have also been transformed into private dining rooms for groups of up to 12 to hire for a private occasion.

Kibou

Kibou is a contemporary Japanese restaurant and bar in The Clifton Arcade that serves up sushi, sashimi, ramen, bao buns and a full vegan Japanese menu. Inside you'll find a space bursting with colour and vibrant Japanese-inspired artwork. Set across two storeys, you can dine in the dining room with views across Clifton Village, head to the open sushi kitchen with high top seating, or grab a drink and a bite to eat in Clifton's "hottest new cocktail bar and plush lounge".

Dirty Bird

Dirty Bird can also be found in King's Road and is a gin and cocktail lounge born in 2020. It boasts Instagrammable selfie spots, like the famed fluorescent 'Dirty Bird' sign, as well as 'decadent and delicious' contemporary cocktails crafted by a team of experienced mixologists. However, if you're not in the mood for a cocktail, you can also choose from an extensive range of gins, wines and beers from local suppliers.

22 Clifton

Located in The Cellars, an iconic Georgian address dating back to the early 1800s, 22 Clifton aims to "redefine the concept of a contemporary wine bar, retail shop and intimate events space". Inside, you'll find original vaulted ceilings, exposed brick, luxurious leather seating and a table handcrafted from 300 year old wooden timbers. Experts will pair customers to their perfect glass of wine from a vast selection, while there's also bespoke champagnes, spirits and cocktails to choose from.

The Lansdown

The Lansdown is an independent pub situated on Clifton Road, known for its 'vibrant atmosphere, year round beer garden, and love for rugby'. It's nestled on a quiet corner near the heart of Clifton and combines tradition with modern comforts. In addition to its rugby screening and pub grub, The Lansdown offers local drinks, a weekly pub quiz, live music and movie nights and the garden is even dog-friendly, so you can bring your four-legged friend with you.

Milk Bun

Milk Bun can be found on The Mall and offers hand-made, gourmet burgers with its own secret signature bun recipe. The menu is made up of meat and vegan options, using fresh local produce, as well as a vast array of drinks - from wine, beer, cider and cocktails like classic Negroni or Margarita and even seasonal Autumn Apple, among more.

Bristol Fringe

Located on Princess Victoria Street, The Bristol Fringe is a live music bar that offers live entertainment, arts and music, seven days a week. It also serves up a selection of classic cocktails, beer and wine, as well as food at the bar.
