‘Jackass: Best and Last’ Trailer: The Crew Goes Out as Only They Can (with Ball-Busting Robots)
For their fifth (and final?) feature film, the gang is back to all their old tricks.
by Kate Erbland · IndieWireTalk about being too old for this shit. For the fifth (and final?) entry into the “Jackass” feature film oeuvre, the gang is going out as only they can: with a ball-busting robot that also practices prostate exams. Ah, aging gracefully!
Never fear, “Jackass: Best and Last” also promises such delights as “a shock collar for a penis,” “an escape room from Hell,” and more than enough other hits to the gang’s genitalia than any reasonable audience would demand.
Per the film’s official synopsis: “Johnny Knoxville and the gang return for one final fling at the big screen. Featuring all-new stunts and stupidity along with the greatest hits and biggest laughs from the past is a joyously raucous celebration of all the mischievous camaraderie that you’ve come to love and expect from these idiots over the past 25 years. So, grab your dumb little buddies, raise your glasses, and come experience the cinematic event that promises to be the last time you’ll ever laugh this hard in a theatre.”
As ever, Jeff Tremaine is back directing this joint, and he produces alongside mainstays Knoxville and Spike Jonze.
When the fourth film, “Jackass: Forever,” hit theaters back in February 2022, Knoxville was open about how his process has remained stable over the years. “I don’t like to wait around,” Knoxville told IndieWire. “It’s like, today, I’m in the ring with the bull. Might as well hurry up and shoot. I just want to get it over with.” One thing he’s never eager to get through? Bonding with his cohorts, as only they can. “We’re mean to each other, but we’re not mean to other people,” Knoxville said. “I think all that speaks to the public.”
This time around, fans can expect to enjoy the painful, funny, and painfully funny exploits of stars Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Wee Man (Jason Acuña), Dave England, Danger Ehren (Ehren McGhehey), Preston Lacy, Rachel Wolfson, Jasper, Dark Shark (Compston Wilson), Poopies (Sean McInerney), and Zach Holmes. And, of course, our new robot pal Larry.
