Beautiful woodland cinema that's just two hours away from Nottingham

On Saturdays an organ is played live before each film begins in Screen One

For more than 100 years the Kinema in the Woods has offered a unique cinema experience unlike anything else. The small cinema is two hours away from Nottingham in the Lincolnshire countryside and is nestled into the woodland of the picturesque Woodhall Spa.

The 102-year-old cinema is very traditional and in Screen One there is an organ which is still played by a live organist on Saturdays before each film starts. However, whilst the venue may be old-fashioned the films are not, as the site still plays some of the latest films and big blockbusters.

Looking ahead to some of the films on the line-up for October 2024, audience members can expect to see the new Beetlejuice film, Thelma and also Joker: Folie à Deux. The cinema also plays fan favourites and classic films, with the 2004 Mean Girls film also on the lineup.

Adult tickets cost £8.50 and tickets for those under 15 or over 65 cost £7.50. There is also a deal to buy a family ticket, which is two adults and two children or one adult and three children for £30.

There is a large free car park on the site that customers can make use of, and all of the auditoriums and the foyer are air-conditioned. Like most cinemas, it is not recommended that you bring babies or very young children unless it is a morning or afternoon showing of a family favourite, and no dogs except guide dogs are allowed.

If you are in the area but don't have time for a film, the foyer is open for members of the public to come and have a look around when open, but the auditoriums are for ticket holders only.
