Every year millions of people visit holiday parks in the UK, but many of these are missing something more and more of us are needing. With more drivers switching to electric vehicles, finding a holiday destination with charging points can be tricky, with research showing that two-thirds of the nation's holiday parks don't offer electric vehicle charging.

Center Parcs has been declared as the best holiday park to visit as an electric vehicle driver, with each UK location taking a spot in the top five, followed by Warner Hotels in the Cotswolds and Bluestone Resort in Wales. The Sherwood Forest Center Parcs site is second on the list after the Woburn Forest site, each of which has 112 charging sockets on site.

All of the organisation's sites have electric vehicle points, with a total of 510 across all locations. Jerome Baddley, Director of Sustainability at Center Parcs UK & Ireland, says, “At Center Parcs, we’re committed to operating in a sustainable and ethical way throughout our business.

"We currently have a total of 512 guest EV charging points across our five UK villages, with around 100 EV charging points at each village. While driving is far better for the planet than air travel, we are aware that travel to and from our villages could still have a big environmental impact, so we are working hard to help our guests keep this impact as low as possible."

He continued: "We’re extremely proud that all our charging points are powered by 100 per cent zero-carbon renewable energy. This means that our guests can feel more confident that they’ve made a sustainable choice when it comes to travel.”

The research comes from a new study by Drax Electric Vehicles, which analysed ZapMap data to see which locations had the most charging points, allowing drivers to forget about plugging in and instead enjoy their holidays. Adam Hall, Director of Drax Electric Vehicles, said: "Electric vehicles are becoming the new normal, and it’s great to see more holiday parks getting ahead of the curve.

"Our new research shows that many parks are rising to the occasion, making sure people can enjoy their holiday without worrying about their car’s battery life."
