Nottingham Winter Wonderland announces changes as snow causes city centre disruption

Changes have been announced to Nottingham's Winter Wonderland Christmas market amid heavy snowfall across the city and county on Tuesday (November 19). Due to the weather, the market stalls will open "slightly later than usual", organisers said in an announcement on Facebook.

The precise timings of the changes to the market stall opening times were not revealed. Usually, they open at 10am throughout November and December.

The rest of the Winter Wonderland is open as usual. The Facebook post from organisers said: "Due to the snowy weather, our Market Stalls will open slightly later than usual. The Ice Rink: Our Sky Skate Ice Path, family and children's ice rinks will all be open as normal

"The Observation Wheel, Sur La Piste, Altitude, and all of our other attractions are still open, so you can still enjoy the magic of Winter Wonderland! We appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, we hope to see you soon!"

The snow has affected roads, schools and businesses across the country. Both Wollaton Hall & Deer Park and Newstead Abbey were closed for a number of hours in the morning, while teams were "assessing" their park areas before making a decision on opening.

No further snow is expected after Monday night's fall, but frosty and cold weather is set to continue. Temperatures are set to drop to around -2C overnight.

Winter Wonderland is open until December 31, with market stalls closing on Christmas Eve. Opening times of attractions vary, and you can see more details on the Winter Wonderland website.
