Stagecoach East Midlands has announced some exciting new changes to its Mansfield transport services as part of its continued expansion and improvement work in the region.

The company recently extended the area's bus timetable, and is now sharing further plans of enhancements to local services on its mission to improve routes, punctuality of travel, and offer a wide range of travel options for all across the East Midlands.

The changes include the increased frequency of Stagecoach's popular Pronto service, which will now run up to every 10 minutes between Mansfield and Nottingham, from Monday to Saturday.

The enhancement from Pronto's current 15-minute frequency, particularly, is being introduced to meet the rising demand from passengers - along with various bus timing adjustments to ensure a smoother, more punctual travel experience.

Improved Pronto services

Pronto buses are distinctly well-known in the area, with their pink and purple colours allowing them to stand out, as well as having a reputation for their speedy service.

More recently, Pronto buses were kitted out with new e-leather seats, USB ports for charging, and free WiFi.

Offering bus users a quick and easy option into Nottingham from Mansfield, Pronto aims to be both comfortable and cost-effective.

With a capped £2 fare single until the end of the year, and numerous other options to save money for the more regular Pronto user, the service can allow you to save money on parking, do your bit for the environment by leaving your car at home, or enable you to use the bus for a night out or evening meal, with Pronto running around until midnight most days - depending on direction of travel - as well as up to 11pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

By using Stagecoach’s app, travellers can easily find out when the next Pronto is due - which will now be even sooner thanks to the increased service.

The app is available on Google Play or Apple App Store, and is free to download and use. You can also buy your ticket on the app in advance, or purchase on the bus, with contactless payment accepted as well.

Bus timing changes

In addition to the enhanced Pronto service, Stagecoach East Midlands has made some minor timing adjustments to several other services to improve punctuality and ensure a smoother journey experience for passengers.

These services include:

  • Service 6
  • Service 7
  • Service 12
  • Service 14/15/15A
  • Service 27
  • Service 141

  • Service 363
  • Service 364

Matt Cranwell, managing director of Stagecoach East Midlands, said: "We're committed to continuously improving our services to meet the needs of our passengers.

“The increase in frequency on the Pronto service is a direct response to the growing demand, and we are delighted to offer more frequent journeys between Mansfield and Nottingham.

"The adjustments to other services will also contribute to a more reliable and punctual service across the network.

“We encourage all our customers to check the new timetables and take advantage of the improved services."

Furthermore, the Service 231 will now include an additional journey at 1:45 pm from Alfreton to Pinxton, providing more travel options for passengers in these areas.
