Alison Hammond has offered a glimpse into her personal life while discussing her debut novel, which draws from her own experiences. The 49 year old This Morning star appeared on BBC The One Show on Thursday (November 21) to talk about her book 'Bombshell'.

The romantic comedy centres on Madison, who sacrifices her dreams for her family and her famous actor husband, only to have him leave her. Alison, who penned the book with Lisa Bent, hinted at parallels with her own life, including her past relationship with 26 year old Russian masseur David Putman.

She explained to hosts Roman Kemp and Angellica Bell: "Let me set the scene, so you can imagine Madison is married to a TV heartthrob who is quite famous and is getting more famous as time goes on. They are married and have two kids and everything is going swimmingly."

Alison openly shared: "Now we have all been blindsided in love."

Focusing back on her character, she added: "One day her husband decides 'I don't want to be with you anymore' so she goes on this massive mission like a murder mystery but without the murder and she tries to find out what is going on with her husband.", reports Wales Online.

Alison Hammond assured her fans that there's plenty more excitement in store, saying: "That little moment is not a spoiler for the book, what I have just told you - there are more spoilers but I'm not going to tell you that because you need to read the book."

During an interview, Roman Kemp couldn't resist asking about her inspiration for the book, to which Alison hinted: "All I can say is Madison lives in my head and the only experiences I've got is my life so obviously everything that goes on in the book is from my head or from people I know in the industry."

She playfully suggested to Roman: "People who have told me a bit of gossip and you could be in the book."

Roman was visibly shocked as he exclaimed: "No don't say that because now I'm worried. " The room erupted with laughter when he added: "What have you told people Alison, you haven't told them about us have you? " Alison teased further: "You could be based on a few of the characters so it's from my own experiences. But you know what it's just the right amount of drama and it's just what you need this Christmas."
