Liam Payne - TV crew sparks anger after filming inside cemetery

by · NottinghamshireLive

A television crew has incited public anger by conducting a broadcast within the cemetery where Liam Payne's body was temporarily housed before being repatriated to the UK. The team from Argentina's "Socios del espectáculo" reported live from the British Cemetery in Buenos Aires, where the late 31-year-old rested following his tragic death from falling off the balcony of his hotel room on the third floor.

The star died after suffering multiple traumas leading to an "internal and external haemorrhage".

His remains were kept in Argentina for three weeks during which medical examinations, including an autopsy, were performed. His body was then embalmed and released for repatriation.

During their coverage, a male presenter from the Argentinian TV show entered the cemetery - footage the Mirror and NottinghamshireLive opted not to display.

Claiming he had been granted "exclusive access" by the authorities, the presenter suggested that Liam Payne's body had been lying in the chapel since the previous Friday and held inside the cemetery, capturing the macabre setting on camera, reports the Mirror.

Furthermore, as he proceeded into the building, the presenters informed the viewers about the funeral being expected to draw numerous celebrities and personalities from the music and entertainment industry, testament to Liam's international fame.

However, the Cementerio Británico de Buenos Aires confirmed to the Mirror that the late singer's body was not present when filming commenced. They stated: "The coffin was here 5 days, time needed to prepare everything for the travel to England. In the video you can see our chapel and the place where the coffin was. This video was recorded 6 hours after the coffin was transported to the airport."

Fans of Liam have expressed their anger over the broadcast, with one commenting: "How could they film inside the funerarium? ? ! ! ! ! " Another added, "Damn they are real disrespectful." It is expected that Liam's funeral will take place in the coming days, with an announcement from the Payne family anticipated.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Liam will have a very big send off, quite probably at a large cathedral somewhere close to his heart. Liam was so loved by so many people, there will obviously be enormous demand and so the service will necessarily be a huge affair. The details are still under wraps until they are definitively signed off but should be announced very soon."
