Nintendo To Continue Delivering Movies Beyond Live-Action Zelda, Unsurprisingly
So, what's next?
by Liam Doolan · Nintendo LifeNintendo is now fully committed to the movie business thanks to Super Mario and the upcoming live-action Zelda film, due out 30th April 2027.
During the latest financial briefing, company president Shuntaro Furukawa has reiterated how the Japanese firm intends to "continue delivering movies" with its partners beyond the Zelda film - while also reassuring fans that each film will be "carefully" crafted.
The plan is to also establish a "framework", allowing for ongoing production. Here's the graphic attached to these comments:
"As announced, a live-action movie of The Legend of Zelda is scheduled for release in 2027, and we plan to continue delivering movies in the years that follow.
"We will work with our partners to carefully craft each film, while establishing a framework that supports ongoing production."
The Galaxy Movie has already provided enough evidence of another Mario movie, but Nintendo hasn't officially said anything.
There have also been some rumours about the Zelda movie going beyond a single film, but the first one still needs to come out (and make bank at the global box office).
Furukawa has also issued a reminder about how the combined worldwide box office sales of the animated Mario Movies have now exceeded two billion US dollars, further expanding Nintendo's reach to new audiences and regions.
"We believe these movies have provided an opportunity for people to get to know Mario, including people in regions where our dedicated video game platform business has had limited reach and people who do not normally play games."

IMO a Pikmin movie would be great and Splatoon would lend itself really well to a series
