Days after Virat Kohli made headlines over a viral Instagram controversy, the story has taken a new twist. While Instagram seems to have constantly posed some problems for Kohli after he allegedly liked German influencer LizLaz’s bold photos, the latter has finally broken the silence on the same. Speaking with Filmymantra Media, the German model claimed that she was offered money to speak negatively about the star cricketer.

While the accident gained attention, knowing the vast popularity of the Indian cricketing legend, LizLaz finally revealed the entire story behind it. In her recent conversation, the German began, “Some people also push you to say certain things you don’t want to say. So, there were some journalists who’d offer me money to throw shade at him, to say things he apparently did that he did not.”
However, she stressed that she refused those offers outright, while adding that Kohli remains one of her favourite cricketers. “But why would I do this to my favourite cricketer? I’m not like this. But yes, things like these also happen,” LizLaz added. The German also added that she was surprised by the attention received and admitted that she became emotional upon noticing Kohli’s interaction.
How Virat Kohli’s viral ‘like’ row all began?
Notably, this wasn’t the first time Kohli’s Instagram handle noticed such an activity. Elaborating on the incident, Kohli had liked a photo of LizLaz on Instagram, in which she was wearing a powder blue backless halter mini dress. Although it remains unclear whether Kohli actually liked the photo as an accidental act or if it was an algorithm glitch, it definitely caught the attention of fans.
While the 37-year-old, who is a father of two children, does not follow the German influencer, it quickly became the talk of the moment. Although the post was unliked minutes later, LizLaz opened up about how she felt knowing about the entire situation. “I don’t even know when he liked the picture; I learnt through the news. So many people found the articles done on me on many different platforms and sent them to me in my DMs,” she had said in her prior interaction.
Although Kohli has not made any statement on the same, LizLaz, who is also known by the name Jennifer, added, “I felt a bit sorry for him, actually. I was so happy that he liked it, but then him unliking it, I felt a bit bad for him because I don’t even know how it became such a big story.”
