Chanel Culture Fund is back with the second volume of its Arts & Culture Magazine, the inaugural edition of which launched in the summer of 2025. Its new edition, which hits shelves on October 23, coinciding with Art Basel Paris, artist Cindy Sherman graces the cover in full Chanel tweed.

The 300-page magazine will be available free of charge at 33 select independent bookstores and magazine shops in 22 countries, from ACO Books in Hong Kong and Casa Bosques in Mexico City to Rococo News & Magazines in London and 7L in Paris. Inside the pages, there are original, handwritten lyrics by Patti Smith; Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage and London’s National Theatre director Indhu Rubasingham discuss how storytelling translates to the stage and writer Andrew Durbin muses on the life and legacy of Peggy Guggenheim, who is the subject of a Royal Academy exhibition opening on November 21.

“At the heart of the work of the Chanel Culture Fund is cultivating care for ideas, for artists, and for the irreplaceable act of making something new. Our Arts & Culture magazine is where that practice leaves its trace. There could be no one better to grace the cover of Vol. 2 than Cindy Sherman, who for five decades has examined the construction of identity and the power over personae that women hold,” said Yana Peel, president of arts, culture and heritage at Chanel. “In her photographs, she renders the modern woman – and her freedom of becoming – with empowerment and care. It’s no surprise then that Sherman found inspiration for her latest series in Gabrielle Chanel, and in the magical archives of our founder.”

The magazine will also be available at Hauser & Wirth’s London site, where photographs from Cindy Sherman’s “Fabric Matrons” series are on view.
