Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH announced new dates for its “Autumn.Winter 28/29” sourcing season, moving the trade fair to July 20 to 22, 2027. The event is held alongside its show-in-shows—Bluezone, Keyhouse and The Source.
The revised timeline places the event about four weeks later than originally planned to align better with the evolving sourcing and development cycles of the European fashion and textile industry, organizers said in a statement, adding that preparations are also in full swing for the upcoming winter edition, scheduled for Jan. 20 to 22, 2027.

“Due to major local events in Munich, our exhibitors and visitors would have faced significantly higher hotel prices in June 2027,” said Florian Klinder, managing director of the Munich Fabric Start, adding that in the interest of its community, “we therefore opted for the July dates. We look forward to a strong start for Autumn.Winter 28/29.”
To expand its digital offerings and build a year-round international platform, Munich Fabric Start also said it is hosting an exclusive webinar on Oct. 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM CET in partnership with Future Fashion Assembly. Titled “What Comes Next for European Fashion Supply,” the inaugural event will be curated by Sofia Strazzanti, Future Fashion Assembly CEO, and moderated by Muchaneta ten Napel, founder and CEO of Shape Innovate and curator of the Stage program at Munich Fabric Start.
The expert-led discussion features industry leaders from brands and companies such as Nobody’s Child, Fabacus, Sharabati, Positive Materials and Blue Kaktus.
The webinar is part of a series that will tackle critical challenges across the fashion supply chain, focusing on artificial intelligence, Digital Product Passports (DPP), regulatory compliance and sustainable competitiveness.
Key sessions will explore how emerging AI tools deliver measurable efficiency and how European businesses can adapt to shifting regulatory demands while maintaining supply chain resilience. This digital initiative bridges to the upcoming in-person event in Munich this January, where the Stage program will continue the conversation on industry transformation and innovation.
Strazzanti said regulation, AI and sourcing “are often discussed as separate issues, but inside a fashion business they collide around the same product, the same suppliers and increasingly the same data. The businesses that connect those decisions will be better placed to reduce risk, improve efficiency and protect margin.”
Ten Napel said the conversation around AI in fashion needs to mature. “We should be asking less about what the technology promises and more about what it actually delivers. Can it reduce unnecessary sampling, improve decision-making, strengthen supplier relationships or make European production more competitive?”
Ten Napel said, “For me, meaningful innovation is about measurable value, not technological novelty. And that is exactly the kind of conversation we need to be having with the industry.”
