Miuccia Prada is always up for a mood shift at Miu Miu, leaving behind fall 2026’s nature-fueled outdoorsy feel and embracing lace-front Wrangler jeans, colorful New Balance sneakers, retro-tinged athleticwear, a few pouf-y miniskirts — and kilts galore.
This collection seemed to have one foot at the local YMCA of yore, and another in a suburban backyard: Most outfits incorporated some swimwear bottoms, either a warm-up jacket or a cropped workout top, and then something in checkered wool, usually a boyish blazer and a pleated skirt worn low on the hips.
The men, including “Billy Elliott” actor Jamie Bell, wore clinging raglan-sleeve activewear, zippered cardigans and wooly trousers.

Guests sat on the kind of bleachers you’d find at the local swimming pool or high-school gymnasium, which jibed with the prom-night finery, and what guys and gals might wear after volleyball practice, mixing their school uniforms with warm-up duds.
There was a Western twang to the small leather vests and wrap skirts; collegiate airs on the arm-band sweaters, and a very Miu Miu feel to all the vintage curtain prints — and the freewheeling styling.
Prada was swarmed by journalists after the show, but she prefers not to overexplain her Miu Miu collections, insisting they are more purely about fashion than deep thoughts about society and whatnot.

“Two words,” she pleaded, raising her hands and explaining that her intention was simply “to bring elegance to sports.”
Asked about the show casting, she replied: “We try to do all — young, new faces and some older women, some men, some different characters,” she said with a little shrug.
For the record, Olivia Colman, Emma Corrin, Noah Jupe, Chandler Kinney, Donkey Kid and Louisa Jacobson, Meryl Streep’s daughter, all walked the show — such good sports.
