Event-Worthy Denim: The Latest Celebrity Denim Looks

There were plenty of occasion for celebrities, influencers and other style tastemakers to dress up in denim this season.

Gap Inc. creative director Zac Posen stayed true to the company’s roots for the Met Gala. The designer wore dark wash jeans, a burnished Trucker jacket and classic white tee, allowing the GapStudio creation he made for Kendall Jenner to steal the spotlight.

The Chanel jeans model Bhavitha Mandava wore to the event sparked outrage online. However, on closer inspection the deceptively casual bottoms were not denim at all.  The trompe l’oeil jeans were in fact made from silk muslin and printed with a faux denim effect.

Ciara chose a dramatic denim trench coat over jean shirts and a button-down shirt to the “The Devil Wears Prada 2” world premiere in New York City. Olandria Carthen wore Area’s distressed denim column dress to the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards.

CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas drew several denim-clad celebrities. Timothée Chalamet distressed and overdyed jeans with a brown suede jacket, while Jason Momoa paired a leather jacket with coated jeans. Billie Eilish chose a pair of “Bleu de travail” chinos.

Dark wash jeans and coordinates were in demand for other press events. Ayanna Patterson wore a Levi’s set to the 2026 WNBA Draft. Christa Miller wore an inky denim blazer and flare jean—both accented with wheat color stitching—to a Variety event.
