“It’s the 10th anniversary show. I haven’t done a show in a year, and for the last three collections, we’ve been doing a really constrained exercise of being precise and mature. I believe there’s been such a learning from it, but I really wanted to allow myself to really get back to the fun and be completely free for this collection,” Alejandro Gómez Palomo said of his spring 2027 collection, which debuted in a rose garden at Madrid Fashion Week on Tuesday night.

The designer said he wanted to create a collection that celebrated his earliest men’s work, which came through a mix of hard and soft coed with nods to signature subversion, sensuality and romanticism. Palomo said he was inspired by an idealized Arcadia, translating it to his own Palomo universe, “A place of love, and pleasure — a place where everyone is kind of welcome,” he said of his meld of neutral, bright and pastel-colored fashions.

There was an emphasis on wardrobe staples, whipped into special pieces with ample personality, as in a fun men’s look of jeans with studded rose motifs, paired with a fluffy feathered tank. The gender-fluid designs continued with feather-accented jeans and sheer shirts, here with pale pink cargo shorts; sheer cotton organza matching utility sets; leather outerwear, and colorful red and green sensual slipdresses and tailored suitings with workwear jacket pockets.

“There’s always our bestseller shirts reimagined, the ass-air pants. There’s new silhouettes, but nothing is unfamiliar. There’s an evolution of where the brand is going, but also a lot of looking at what people want from a brand like ours and we believe our customers expect from us,” he said of mixing new and familiar styles into the lineup as the brand continues to expand its direct-to-consumer and future return to wholesale.

But Palomo also went full glam with fringed beaded layers and feathers galore, which adorned a sheer duster, conceptual headpieces (another signature of the brand) and big boas that accented elevated looks spanning Palomo’s world of street to modern gala.
