What does it feel like to be small and dream of being big? For Ganni, the answer came cloaked in childhood memories, exaggerated proportions and the joy of playing dress-up.
For spring, designer Ditte Reffstrup returned to her earliest memories of fashion, particularly stealing her sister’s clothes and slipping her feet into her mother’s shoes. The result was a collection that played with perception as a childhood sense of wonder.
Cue ruffles, lace and giant floppy hats, paired with shrunken polos and fuzzy striped pullovers. It was all very Gen Z chaos, playing against all rules of proper dressing.
Micro bags sat alongside supersized ones; volumes on skirts ballooned into bloomers with ties and strings; frills, layers and candy-colored hues added an air of naive sweetness.

That spirit extended into the presentation, conceived with longtime collaborator Ana Kraš as an oversized childhood home. An enormous floral sofa invited guests to take off their shoes and climb up for a nap, while vintage refrigerators were pasted with drawings and notes while filled with snacks and soda.
It was all very mischievous, and Reffstrup described the collection as a return to “where it all started” — bringing back Ganni’s innate sense of joy after years of focusing on brand expansion and business growth.
New leadership is part of that, with chief executive officer Hans Hoegstedt joining six months ago. Part of his mandate is to restore the energy and DNA that originally defined the brand, he said.
