LONDON — Luxury hotel Claridge’s has appointed British accessories designer Anya Hindmarch to design its Christmas tree this year.
To be reimagined as a treehouse and unveiled in the hotel’s Mayfair lobby on Nov. 25, the 2026 holiday installation will be built into the branches of a traditional fir tree and decorated with twinkling lights. The hotel promised that Hindmarch’s design will evoke a nostalgic fairy-tale world, with playful details and whimsical touches.
“Claridge’s has always been special to me. There is something about crossing that marble entrance, that sweeping staircase, those Deco doors. I had my 21st birthday there many moons ago, and for my family, it has always been a place of special celebrations and a place to make memories,” said Hindmarch, adding that she hoped the treehouse would help guests and visitors create their own memories.

Thomas Kochs, managing director at the Maybourne-owned hotel on London’s Brook Street, said the collaboration brought together “two such utterly British names.” He praised Hindmarch’s creativity and playful style, and hinted that further details about their partnership would be revealed next year.
The annual tree has become a seasonal fixture in London and marks the start of the festive period at the hotel. This year’s installation is the 16th to be envisioned by a guest designer.
Previous collaborators included Karl Lagerfeld, Kim Jones for Dior, Sandra Choi for Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Paul Smith, Diane von Furstenberg, Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s former chief creative and executive officer, and Burberry’s current chief creative officer, Daniel Lee, among others.
