Ksubi and Paper Planes are dressing for New York in shades of gray.

The Australian denim label and the lifestyle brand founded by Jay-Z and Emory Jones have teamed on a five-piece capsule centered on Ksubi’s Oh G Jacket and Maxx Jeans. Both styles come in an exclusive Iron Grey wash, picking up the black, white and gray palette associated with Paper Planes.

The collection went on sale Oct. 15 at Ksubi’s SoHo store, ahead of an Oct. 16 online launch for U.S. customers through Ksubi.com and Paperplane.shop.

A varsity jacket, long-sleeve rugby top and co-branded cap round out the assortment. The campaign video shows the gray denim worn as a matching set, alongside a black varsity jacket with cream sleeves and a black rugby top with a white collar.

“New York has always been a second home for Ksubi,” Ksubi chief executive officer Craig King said in a statement. “Both brands are inspired by the people, culture and energy of this city; this collection is really a representation of that.”

The brands describe the capsule as a love letter to New York, using denim and sportswear staples to build their version of a city uniform. The campaign places models on broad gray steps against a dark studio backdrop, keeping the focus on the clothes and their loose proportions.

Founded in Australia in 1999, Ksubi built its identity around distressed denim, DIY references and its box cross logo. Paper Planes launched in 2014 and has expanded from its recognizable paper airplane emblem into apparel, outerwear and accessories.

For this collaboration, the two labels keep the assortment compact: one denim wash, five pieces and a rollout beginning in the city that inspired it.
