“We give a tribute to Dalida,” explained Stéphane Rolland, referring to the singer. “It’s the 40th anniversary of her death.”
So he took over Paris’ iconic Olympia theater — where she performed — to stage his fall 2026 couture display. The backdrop was of black-and-white photos and videos of Dalida singing and speaking.
“We celebrate her,” Rolland said. “The collection is almost [all] white — very pure, very sleek, very clean, extremely couture.” By the latter, he meant “very precious.”
To wit: Delicate embroideries fashioned with precious stones adorned the fluid dresses, which had a timeless elegance. That was in keeping with Dalida’s sensual vibe from her pre-disco era.

“She was extremely fragile and strong at the same time,” Rolland said, adding all the shows elements were chosen to channel her sensitivity. “Life sometimes is just suspended with a thread.”
Rolland worked with crepe, gazar, chiffon, organza and satin for his creations.
A bustier dress in white satin macramé featured an overskirt of white organza ruching and white ostrich feathers. Another long dress was of pleated crepe satin embroidered with gray agate cabochons and crystal.
There were also capes, long pareos and coats. Silhouettes ranged from structured and sculptural to flowing. Wavy shapes abounded.
The models’ hair was sleekly styled, as often was Dalida’s. Jewelry had precious stones, including yellow and black diamonds.
The dramatic show wound up with a surprise performance by Tunisian singer Oumaima Taleb, backed by a live orchestra led by Egyptian conductor Hany Farahat. Rolland took to the mic with Taleb at the finale.
