London Fashion Week was a melting pot of creative washes, youthful styling and extreme silhouettes.

High-street brands took in the action with runway shows. While PETA protesters made it onto H&M’s stage, models continued to stomp out in Western-inspired dark-wash denim. Stacked belts, paisley embroidery and studded designs elevated the urban cowboy aesthetic. M&S also gave commercial denim trends like wide-leg jeans with twisted side seams, flowing denim trousers and miniskirts a moment on the catwalk.

Denim Highlights From Copenhagen Fashion Week

Ahluwalia’s preferred canvas for Spring/Summer 2027 is classic blue denim. The Puma collaborator emphasized seams on zippered jackets, long shorts, relaxed jeans and a halter maxi dress with thick white stitching. Fashion East also used stitching to create lines and shapes on shirts and cut-out jean jackets.

London’s punk heritage was evident. Aaron Esh updated the men’s skinny jean with black leather panels. Chopova Lowensa styled a tartan plaid skirt over dark wash jeans. Oscar Ouyang showed jeans with an oily appearance.

KNWLS created Frankenstein-like constructions by stitching together waistbands and legs in different washes. One example featured back pockets on the front. Mulberry highlighted the classic straight-leg high-waisted jean. Natasha Zinko and Yuhan Wang brought back the denim brief and panty.

Designers also found creative ways to soften the appearance of hard-wearing denim. Fashion East layered dyed tulle over blue jeans and a shrunken jean jacket. Erdem decorated light-wash denim workwear jackets with white floral embroidery. Lovebirds layered floral prints and embroidery on jeans.
