Ralph Lauren is taking the plunge into the festival space.
Next month, the company will debut PoloFest, which it is billing as a new cultural gathering dedicated to the world of Polo. The inaugural event will be held in Tokyo from Oct. 23 to 25 at Jing Harajuku in the city’s Shibuya district.
The event is designed to bring together vintage Polo collectors, artists and fans from around the world to celebrate the brand and the community that it has helped create. The festival will examine the history of the brand, which will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2027, and will feature an archival exhibition of rare and iconic Polo Ralph Lauren pieces, a speaker series and a vintage marketplace featuring Polo collectors and dealers from around the world.

“Very few brands have managed to last as long as Ralph Lauren and stay as relevant and as consistent,” said David Lauren, vice chairman and chief branding and innovation officer of Ralph Lauren Corp. “PoloFest in Japan brings together generations of people who share a passion for the clothes, but also for something much bigger — the culture, the philosophy, the sensibility and the community that Ralph Lauren has built for nearly 60 years. Ralph Lauren has never just been about a shirt or a piece of clothing. It has always been about a way of living, the memories we create and the stories we share. PoloFest is a celebration of that connection. It’s not simply about fashion. It is about passion, emotion and the community that has grown around Polo all over the world.”
The company selected Tokyo for its inaugural event because the brand, which first began selling in Japan in 1976, is especially popular there and has spawned generations of collectors. It will mark the first global activation in a series of events intended to celebrate six decades of the brand’s impact on style, culture and lifestyle, the company said. Other events will be themed to the particular locations in which they will be held.
Admission to the inaugural event is complementary but tickets are required. They will be available free through ralphlauren.com/polo-fest-tokyo.
