The Last Dinner Party is set to resume their tour on Monday, following a string of cancellations due to "due to an unforeseen illness in the band". The Brit-winning group had to cancel performances in Lincoln and Cardiff last week, and subsequently called off headline shows in Birmingham, Nottingham, Bristol, and Southampton "following medical advice".

A statement from the band's social media expressed excitement about returning to the stage: "excited to resume tour in Dublin tomorrow". They continued, acknowledging the importance of the break for their health: "This week has been absolutely crucial in restoring our health to the point where we can give you the best performances we possibly can."

The band also conveyed their apologies and gratitude to fans: "Again, we want to express how truly sorry we are to have missed the shows this past week and how grateful we are to you all for supporting and understanding whilst we take the time needed to feel better."

They shared their enthusiasm for reconnecting with their audience: "Being on the road and sharing our music with you all, seeing your sweet faces in the crowds and getting to meet and hug and chat to some of you each night fills us with joy and we’ve missed you."

Finally, they assured fans of their readiness to perform again: "We’re so happy to be revitalised and ready to be back at it again – we’ll see you soon."

This update follows an incident where the band expressed dismay over a security policy at a Lincoln venue, which reportedly made fans feel "uncomfortable and disrespected", leading to suggestions of prejudice against male fans online.

In a statement released on social media, the band expressed that they were unaware of the security policies enforced at their show, stating: "they would not have been implemented had we been made aware of them in advance". The Engine Shed, known as Lincolnshire’s premier live music venue, has issued an apology on X and confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.

The venue admitted to altering its security policy due to "incidents" at a previous The Last Dinner Party concert, which unfortunately led to the "unacceptable treatment of some guests" upon entry. It recognised that the security measures taken were not up to par with their standard venue entry policy, which insists on equal treatment and identical entry requirements for all attendees.

The Last Dinner Party, an all-female indie group, features Abigail Morris as the lead vocalist, Emily Roberts on guitar, Lizzie Mayland playing rhythm, bassist Georgia Davies, and Aurora Nishevci on the keyboards.
