Opera star Wynne Evans and his professional dance partner Katya Jones were the latest pair to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday (17 November). They found themselves in the bottom two alongside Gladiators' Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe after the public vote.

The judges made their decision, opting to keep Montell and Johannes in the competition. This meant that Wynne and Katya's Strictly journey had unfortunately ended.

Following the results show on BBC One, Wynne took to Instagram to share a message with Strictly fans, receiving immediate support from host Tess Daly.

Wynne expressed his gratitude, writing: "Thank you so much to everyone that has tuned in and supported me over the past 9 weeks. This has been a fantastic experience and I couldn't have done any of it without @katyajones."

He continued: "Big thanks to @bbcstrictly for making me feel so welcome and a special shout out to my family for filling the fridge every week! ! Good luck to everyone still in the competition, I'll be cheering you on from my sofa next Saturday! #strictly,", reports Wales Online.

Tess Daly, who co-hosts the BBC One dance show with Claudia Winkleman, responded to his post saying: "You'll be missed!" accompanied by two red heart emojis.

Wynne wasn't left to face social media alone following his exit from Strictly - stars were quick to offer their support. EastEnders' Jamie Borthwick showed some love simply stating, "Love you," whereas Tasha Ghouri expressed her feelings more elaborately: "Going to miss you had the best laughs and chats with you, should be so proud of yourself."

Strictly's leading lady, head judge Shirley Ballas also shared words of encouragement for Wynne: "You will be missed such a gentleman, we have all enjoyed having you on the show."

Additionally, opera sensation Katherine Jenkins joined in with her praise, writing: "You were brilliant Wynne, always so entertaining and energetic. Loved your performances - you did Wales proud! " and Love Island alumni Liam Reardon also commended him saying, "Well done Wynne mate".

In a heartfelt video message to fans, Wynne reflected on his stint in Strictly and his time dancing with Katya: "Hi there, Wynne here. Spoiler alert if you've been watching Strictly's results show then you know my time on Strictly came to an end."

Giving credit where it's due, he said: "It's been brilliant. I never dreamt I'd get to Blackpool and thanks to Katya for obviously being such a superb partner during the process and choreographer, pushing me to my absolute limits and sometimes beyond my limits... It's been utterly brilliant and she has been fantastic. I've got to say thank you to my family, my friends and my partner for making sure there's food in the fridge, for being really supportive when I've been away for weeks on end."

He further commented: "I've also got to say Strictly, Strictly is a beautiful thing, something that' we've got to look after so that we can continue to enjoy it with our families for years to come. But thank you to you and for supporting me as I raise a glass to you and I raise a glass to my friends who are still in Strictly who will be dancing next Saturday night. I'll be watching from the sofa and I say good health. Cheers. Have a brilliant time. But thank you, for now. I won't be hiding for long, that's for sure."
