Kate Middleton has been seen without her engagement ring more frequently in 2024 as royal fans all say the same thing.

The Princess of Wales is usually seen with the stunning band, which originally belonged to Princess Diana, on most public occasions, except for official sporting events or hospital visits.

However, keen observers have noted that the future Queen has been spotted without the ring. Most recently she was seen wearing several 'eternity bands' and her wedding ring during visit to Southport, England, but the engagement ring was missing.

Royal blogger and fashion historian Victoria Campbell took to TikTok earlier this week to comment: "Princess Catherine was not wearing her engagement ring at the visit that took place in Southport, England, today. The iconic engagement ring, that was once Princess Diana's, is of course very hard to miss."

She added that while Kate is usually seen with her ring, "In 2024 we really haven't seen it that often." She continued: "Of the [public] appearances and of the times we have seen her, she hasn't been wearing it."

The absence of the large sapphire ring sparked speculation among fans who wondered why she might have left the precious piece at home.

However, some offered a simple explanation, suggesting Kate may have chosen to wear bands for comfort and to reduce the risk of losing Diana's treasured heirloom.

One fan commented on Campbell's video, saying: "She often leaves it home when she's outdoors or traveling, she's probably scared of losing Diana's ring. I would be paranoid!" Another concurred: "Who doesn't love comfort, it is a statement, just for official engagements?" A third added their voice: "Sometimes it's a bit much when you're doing certain public appearances."

Campbell had a similar theory, adding: "I really, really think it's just a matter of comfort and practicality," and noted that Kate has been seen with various bands on her left ring finger. "[In] the video announcing the end of her [chemotherapy] treatment we first saw all four of these bands."

She said Kate wears a Welsh gold wedding band, a new diamond and sapphire band, and two diamond eternity bands.

"I love her engagement ring, it's amazing," Campbell said, "But I have to say that wearing bands, it's more comfortable, right?"

Another theory about Kate's new diamond and sapphire band, spotted as she congratulated Team GB in August, suggests it's a comfy stand-in for her engagement ring. Hello Magazine observed: "Some have mused that the [ring] could be a more practical, day-to-day alternative to Kate's iconic engagement ring since it features the same stones."
