A walk down Lanimer memory lane is in store for visitors to a special “looking back and moving forward” event taking place next Saturday, November 2.

Run by the Lanimer committee and Lanark Museum, it will allow attendees to view rarely-seen archive footage and even to purchase sought-after memorabilia including past Lanimer medals and brochures.

It takes place at St Nicholas' church hall from 1pm to 4pm, admission costs £5 and tickets are available from Glamorous Hair & Beauty, Jane and Senga Hair Design and McKellars Jewellers.

Organisers from the Lanimer committee say it will give “an opportunity to relive Lanimer glories of the past whilst looking to the future”, including learning about the work of both its organisers and of the town’s museum.

The event will include a prize raffle, and a bar taking cash and card payments will be available.

Tickets can also be purchased online.

Meanwhile, the Lanimer committee has elected its office bearers ahead of the 2025 celebrations following its AGM, with ex-Lord Cornet Gordon Gray continuing in the role of chairman for a second year.

He posted: “Really looking forward to my second year as chairman and working with a wonderful team of people to deliver a fantastic Lanimer week!”

Fiona Cross is the committee’s vice chair, with Molly Cumming and ex-Lord Cornet Kenny Lean serving as honorary secretaries and Paul Brien taking the role of treasurer.
