Iconic Dumfriesshire locations will feature in the latest episode of a hit TV show on Friday night.
Crawick Multiverse, Drumlanrig Castle and Sanquhar’s post office all received a visit from Susan Calman for the popular comedian’s Grand Day Out show, which will be broadcast on Channel 5.
Susan’s trip starts in the South Scottish Glens before she heads to the Isle of Arran.
Then she enters Dumfries and Galloway and the Crawick Multiverse landscape art installation just outside Sanquhar. Built on the site of a mine, it was designed by the late Charles Jencks.
Susan’s next stop is Drumlanrig Castle – nicknamed the Pink Palace due to its distinctive pink sandstone. She discovers there are plenty of treasurers in the castle itself – from a tale of Robert the Bruce to a rather special chandelier – and a Rembrandt painting that is enough to move her to tears.
Her final Dumfriesshire stop is Sanquhar, where she visits the town’s post office – the oldest in the world.
The episode also sees her return to Arran to visit Brodick Castle, a whisky distillery and her favourite beach in the world.
Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out will be shown on Channel 5 at 8pm on Friday, November 29.
